Made from Eastern Canadian Larch wood – also known as Tamarack or Juniper, this specialty wood that only grows in certain Northern climates. Featuring unique end-grain patterns that are meticulously hand matched, each board is indeed a unique piece of craftsmanship.
The durable, self-healing, end grain construction of the Larch wood board makes for the ideal cutting board construction, as the knife edge runs against the grain instead of across. This protects the blade from scarring the surface while keeping the knife edge sharp for much longer. In addition, small cuts on the board surface can naturally heal over time, when the grain fibers push back into place.
Maintenance is quick and easy. We recommend applying coat of beeswax conditioner mixed with mineral oil.
